Those who work in product development are familiar with a Product Requirements Document (PRD). A PRD is a document that painstakingly outlines every detail to be included in the development of a product. Every item is scrutinized and prioritized to fit the needs of the project. These document often takes months to create and is continuously revised until the end result becomes the manifesto, the immovable and unarguable voice of what will ultimately be produced.
I have a theory that any process, system or document that is successful in business may also be applied to personal pursuits. And so, when I started a self-discovery project, I closely examined a PRD as a concept and tool to define my own requirements as if I were to product to be produced. I call this the "Personal Requirements Document." Thuough, my own version still needs a lot of work, I intend to publish the idea...some day.
